  3. A PROGRAMMER's MANAGEMENT THREATENED HIM WITH SANCTIONS
  4. because he was convinced that a system did not protect
  5. confidentiality of medical data and complained about
  6. this deficiency. He felt that he owed loyalty to the
  7. public instead of to his employer.

  9. A PROGRAMMER WAS MOONLIGHTING TO SELL A PROGRAM OF HIS
  10. EMPLOYER that was no longer used.

  12. A PROGRAMMER USED IDLE company computer time for his
  13. personal race track program on Sundays.
  14.  
  15. A POLITICIAN AND SYSTEMS ANALYST CONSPIRED to make a
  16. computer model and simulation produce desired results.
  17. This was easy to do because some data parameters could
  18. not be accurately determined and could vary depending
  19. on the source for this data. Therefore, there was little
  20. difficulty in skewing the results to support the
  21. politicians' point of view.

  23. A PROGRAMMER IN A BANK MADE UNAUTHORIZED CHANGES in
  24. a program to ignore scrutiny of his own account at the
  25. bank.

  27. A PROGRAMMER TERMINATED EMPLOYMENT AND TOOK A COPY of
  28. his employer's program and documentation and provided
  29. these for use by his new employer.
  30.  
  31. A PROGRAMMER purchased and paid for time sharing
  32. services from a competing company. He DOWNLOADED COPIES
  33. of data, programs, and utilities from other users. He
  34. justified this because there were no technical limit-
  35. ations placed on him to prevent him from doing these
  36. things.
